We are so happy to announce that our little son was born on December 26th. He was 8 lbs 5 oz, and 19.5 inches long. We named him Elias, but call him Eli. He was given Paul as a middle name after his grandfather.
After having Camden via C-section, I was nervous to try a VBAC, but am happy to report that everything went very well. I came in to be induced at 10am, and Elias was out by 5:29. This recovery has been so much easier. I’m glad I listened to my gut because the first doctor I spoke to told me I wasn’t a good candidate for a VBAC because I had only had a C-section and that my baby was probably going to be big again (Camden was 9 lbs 2 oz–so not massive, but big enough that it could have made a vaginal birth difficult). Luckily, the more seasoned doctors I spoke to told me the opposite and suggested I go for the VBAC. Thanks to the epidural, it really was so easy. It almost felt like a joke, though the recovery has been a bit more painful. Overall, we’re just happy to have a healthy baby, especially after having Camden who had to go to the NICU for a week.
Happy New Year!
