Hey Friends! I have been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser for this post; however, all the opinions are my own.
My dad has four daughters and no sons. As you might imagine, dinners at our house were filled with girly conversations about clothes and school drama. My dad was often calm and quiet, but when he opened his mouth to speak, we all listened. You see, my dad has an impeccable gift for storytelling. With his deep, husky voice, and his incredible life experiences, whatever he says is worth listening to. He lived in Tonga as a young boy for several years, grew up in Utah, served a mission in Argentina, lived in Hawaii (where I was born), and currently lives in Texas. Living in a wide range of climates and cultures, my father has experienced things many have not, and his stories attest to this.

Some of my most cherished memories with my father revolve around his stories. From his original tall tales on our long car rides, to our bedtime stories, my dad always has an anecdote for every event. Perhaps, though, my most favorite memories are those that took place while sailing. My father learned to sail in Tonga, and had two sail boats in Hawaii. We took them with us when we moved to Utah. These boats were simple–a trampoline stretched between two hulls and a large sail in the center. They are small catamarans made by Hobie Cat. Every year, when we went to Bear Lake, my father would take my older sister and me out to sail. On our small voyages, he not only taught us the basics of sailing, but about life, responsibility, trust, and the importance of having fun.

When I thought about Father’s Day this year, I wanted to get something that reminded me of our sailing voyages. So I was ecstatic when I came across the Nautica Voyage Giftset at Macy’s, especially because it’s on a killer sale right now.
Its fragrance is a very masculine combination of musk, refined wood, and damp moss. It not only smells great, but is beautifully packaged as well. And the giftset is fully loaded with: a full-sized cologne, a travel-sized cologne, aftersave balm, and shower gel. I’m so excited to give it to my dad.
Happy early Father’s Day, Dad! I love you so much! Beyond all the fun stories and voyages, the best things you taught me were to have a positive attitude, and also the importance of choosing a great man to marry. I always recall you saying, “Kara, I hope you marry someone someday that loves you as much as I love your mom.” Thanks for that wonderful advice! I’m so blessed by your example, and am proud to call you my father. I look forward to hearing more of your stories, and sharing them with my children.
I almost forgot! There’s also a sweet giveaway going on now. The grand prize winner will get a $4,000 Cruise Vacation Package. There will 5 additional second place winners who will each win a Nautica Men’s Fragrance Gift Package. You must be 18+ to enter.
