I’m sharing a little advice today in hopes it can help you clean your vacuum. For years I cleaned out my vacuum haphazardly with scissors, only able to get the hair and thread that were easily accessible. When I began sewing again, I started using my seam ripper. Because it is both small and sharp, it makes it so I can literally get every single hair and thread out of the roller. Since having Eli, I’ve been shedding ridiculous amounts of hair. This is pretty common after pregnancy, but incredibly annoying to deal with. My hair is long, and thick, so it can really damage the vacuum if I don’t get it out on a regular basis. Luckily, that little seam ripper always does the trick.
I was surprised to realize that most of my friends hadn’t thought to do this yet, so I’m sharing the knowledge. It’s especially helpful if you sew, because thread caught around the roller can wear your vacuum band sooner, as well as cause other damage.
Because I sew, and I’m dealing with post pregnancy hair loss, the hair and thread in the before picture is all from one bed room. Ew. Glad I have that seam ripper. Hopefully this will help you clean your vacuum too.
Do you have any helpful cleaning tips?
