My sister DeAnna and I have way too much fun when we get together. We are always talking about projects that we are working on, fascinating things we’ve discovered, and our hopes for the future. While we were doing this one day, we realized though she’s a photographer (and an awesome one) and I’m a blogger, we really hadn’t collaborated on anything fun or creative. We immediately knew it was time to change that. DeAnna recommended doing a themed photoshoot. I agreed and together, we decided to do a throwback fashion project. We began checking out other bloggers to invite, and contacted the lovely ladies below.
It was so fun to get together with these girls. I had only known one previously, but had never collaborated with her. Everyone else met the day we took the pictures, but we felt like instant friends. There’s something about the awkwardness of posing for a camera that just helps bring people together. That, and getting lost in a car together :)
I originally wanted to sew my dress for this project, but since I was already working on the bridesmaid dresses for my best friend’s wedding, logic took over and I decided to buy one. And I wasn’t a day too late, because it literally arrived 2 hours before I needed to leave for the shoot. Whew! My dress was from Amazon and about $28 with shipping.
Special thanks to Mackenzie for helping me with the hair!
