A couple months ago my friend Kelly invited me to join her book club, Delicious Reads.  I was absolutely thrilled.  Her book club is a BIG deal.  They haven’t missed a month for 10 years.  Every time I leave one of our meetings, my spirit is filled from the enlightening discussions we have based on the books we read.  I always go on and on to my husband when I return, usually at like 11pm, about how wonderful it is to meet with a group of intelligent women and have such intellectual and fun conversations.  It’s a nice break from my usual discussions with my four year about things like why I’m not strong enough to carry dad and how he shouldn’t ride his bike without a shirt.

It’s become very clear to me that Kelly puts her all into what she does, and she’s great at it.  So when she decided to start a company with another awesome book clubber, Alix from A Ruffled Life, I knew it was going to be a fantastic product, and a successful business.

Together they have created LitJoy Crate, a monthly book box subscription company.  They have subscriptions for children ages 0-2, older children from 3-7, and young adults 14+.  Every box comes with 1-2 books and a ton of fun little extras.  I’m not going to lie, I cried a little bit when I opened my subscription boxes because I was so impressed with my friends’ product, that and I’m totally a sap!  I also want to make it clear that this is not in any way a sponsored post, and I was under no obligation to write anything about this company.  I’m sharing this because I honestly believe in the product as much as I believe in the people who created it–which is a lot!  I’m subscribed to the 0-2 child box and the 3-7 as well.

I think I love getting mail more than my children do, so I love that each box contains a little gift for an adult.  See those marbled earrings? So excited about those!

I really loved this month’s 3-7 box.  It makes me wish I was still teaching elementary school.  How fun would it be to get the kids excited to open each month’s crate.  You could plan activities around that month’s picture book and use the extra items as prizes or rewards for students who go above and beyond.  Even when I taught 4th grade, the kids loved when I would occasionally read a picture book to them.
