If there was a frequent flier card for baby showers, I could have traveled the world by now. With over 100 cousins between my husband and me, there are lots of baby showers on our calendars. Having thrown several showers myself, and becoming a mother to two boys, I feel I’ve learned a thing or two along the way. When it comes to baby showers, you can’t go wrong with giving diapers. And when it comes to diapers, you can’t go wrong with Huggies—specifically Huggies Little Snugglers Plus from Costco.
These diapers are the most absorbent diapers I’ve used and they are only available at Costco. The “Plus” in the diaper’s name indicates the increased quality and softness. I have used these diapers exclusively with my youngest son and can tell you they are the best. We switched to the larger version, Huggies Little Movers Plus, with my older son when he was about 18 months old and I was amazed how well they worked. The biggest difference was that he finally stopped waking up from over-soaked diapers in the middle of the night because these diapers are so absorbent. This is all thanks to their Leak Lock® that offers 12 hours of protection. Take my advice, better diapers = better sleep for baby and you.
Today I want to show you how diapers–a sometimes dull but always necessary gift–can be dressed up to be exciting and cute. After all, presentation is everything. All of the following crafts present diapers as seriously precious, yet still practical gift. And, of course, they are all made using Huggies Little Snugglers Plus. (You can also make them using Huggies Little Movers Plus if you ever attend an adoption shower for an older child.)
Creative Things to Make With Diapers
DIY Baby Shower Wreath
*I spent a long time creating a wreath I hadn’t seen on Pinterest before. I love how it turned out! But I must add that without decorations, the diapers don’t exactly look new–so be sure to add some bling! ;)
DIY Diaper Bouquet
This bouquet would make a cute centerpiece for a baby shower and it’s great to send home with the expectant mother afterwards. And finally, the classic…
Diaper Cake
The diaper cake is really quite easy to make. I like to place the rolled diapers around a jar so I can place a little surprise on the inside. It is made by placing the rolled diapers all around the jar, then tying them in place with a string. I did two layers of this on the bottom, one on the middle tier, and then made the top tier (bottom right photo) to be placed over the top of the jar like a lid. I made the diaper cake on top of a piece of white card board, and when I finished, I cut around it to create a base. Then I used a hot glue gun to secure the jar onto the cardboard–making the cake more travel friendly.
The best part about these three crafts is that I made them all using the same box of Huggies Little Snugglers Plus diapers–and I had a ton of extra diapers to spare! As I mentioned earlier, I found them at Costco. At my location, they are placed towards the back just on the other side of the milk refrigerators. The red box is used for sizes Newborn, 1, and 2, and the purple boxes hold sizes 3, 4, 5, and 6.
Right now Costco is having a sweet deal where you can get Huggies Little Snugglers Plus for $31.49 after a $6 discount and FREE SHIPPING, and Huggies Little Movers Plus for $36.99 after the $6 discount also with FREE SHIPPING. These deals go from 9/1 to 9/25. And beginning in August, Huggies Little Snugglers Plus will also be available in size Newborn for $29.99 at select locations and online. To find a Costco near you, use their store locator.
Once again, one box of Huggies Little Snugglers Plus (size 1) was able to make all three of the projects below with lots to spare. I’m officially stocked up and ready for the next baby shower on my calendar (which is this week!).
