Sew a Sweater without a Commerical Pattern
The beauty of being able to sew is that you can make just about anything you set your heart to once you have the fundamentals down. For me, that often means copying something I already love. In today’s tutorial, I’ll show you how to make a diy sweater. No need to go out and buy a pattern, just make your own quick version using a sweater you already have and love.
The fabric I’m using in this DIY Sweater Tutorial is Hacci from Raspberry Creek Fabrics. They are local to Utah and constantly come out with new gorgeous prints.
Materials for DIY Sweater Sewing:
- Stretch Hem Tape
- Knit Sweater Fabric 1 3/4 yards
- Ballpoint needle
- Clover clips (not required, but better than using pins IMO)
- Stretch Thread (again, not required, but helps to add durability to the final product)
